Nick Saban, the head coach of the Alabama football team, spoke to the media on Saturday night about the Crimson Tide’s 34-24 loss to the Texas Longhorns.
You are aware that this served as a test for us, according to Saban. “I told the players early in the week that this was going to be a test, that we were going to play a really good team, and that we would actually find out where we were as a team and, um, this was a test for everyone,” the player said. It served as a test for the coaches, for me, and for each and every player, and we plainly failed it.
Much of the night was spent moving the offensive line around. Costly penalties emerged. Following two close losses in games last season, the Tide is now under fresh scrutiny.
“It all starts with me, and I obviously let our team down in terms of how we were able to execute and play,” Saban declared.
Texas ultimately prevailed, but Alabama put up a good fight, with quarterback Jalen Milroe producing big runs and passes. With two touchdowns, he completed 14 of 27 passes for 255 yards.
Despite the defeat, Saban had faith in his team and the program for the remainder of the year.
The players have put in a lot of effort, and I believe in them, added Saban. “The stadium had a fantastic vibe tonight, and I applaud the supporters. They undoubtedly performed their part, but we fell short in fulfilling ours. As I previously stated, everything begins with me, but we’ll do all within our power to make things right and have them corrected.
